Explorer label: India basins
Layer group: Hydrology and basin layers
Feature count: 4
Comparison basins outside Nepal-origin control, included to keep Nepal-origin leverage in proportion.
Summary
This layer adds selected non-Nepal comparison basins in northern India. It is included to keep Nepal-origin downstream influence in proportion within the wider Ganges-system geography.
What It Represents
This layer adds non-Nepal comparison basins in northern India. It is a guardrail against making the map too Nepal-centric. The Ganges system has many contributors, and not every Himalayan or plains tributary is controlled by Nepal-origin headwaters.
How To Read It
Use this layer when explaining scale. Compare Nepal-linked basins to India-origin basins to see where Nepal is central and where it is only one part of a much larger downstream system. It is especially useful beside downstream systems and origin/control callouts.
Coverage / Method
The layer covers 4 comparison basin features listed in Map Inventory. It is a selective context layer for map comparison, not a comprehensive inventory of Indian basins or water-management infrastructure.
Caveats
These are comparison geometries, not the main evidence base for Nepal energy planning. They should not be interpreted as a full inventory of Indian hydrology or water-management infrastructure.
