Summary

This roadmap describes the public coverage of the Nepal Energy Wiki and the evidence work needed to deepen it. The wiki is a source-linked guide to Nepal's electricity system, not a comprehensive encyclopedia of every energy source, project or policy.

Simple Explanation

The current coverage provides a coherent route through generation, networks, demand, institutions and impacts. It also keeps the editorial Master Thesis separate from the factual State of Nepal's Electricity System overview and labels pages using the Wiki Page Maturity model.

Future updates will deepen the evidence behind existing branches before expanding into broad new topic areas. Missing information is recorded as a research gap rather than filled with unsupported estimates.

Current coverage

The current public spine covers:

The explorer continues to connect structured project and corridor records to these explanatory pages. Decision Dossiers present response options and trade-offs without treating advocacy as established fact.

Future Evidence Work

The next development phase should concentrate on four evidence gaps:

  1. Reliability and demand: add repeatable series for feeder outages, voltage quality, hourly and seasonal demand, productive use and electrification quality.
  2. Project delivery: deepen dated status, cost, financing and performance evidence for major projects, including West Seti Hydroelectric Project and Pancheshwar Multipurpose Project.
  3. Solar and flexibility: distinguish operating assets from tenders and pipeline records, then add verified geography, output and storage-service data where available.
  4. Network performance: connect corridor completion records to transfer capability, congestion, curtailment and distribution outcomes without inferring unavailable operational data.

Broader branches—such as transport fuels, biomass, industrial heat or economy-wide energy balances—remain outside the current electricity-system scope until their source base and public purpose are defined.

Why It Matters in Nepal

A public electricity guide is most useful when readers can distinguish established system facts from working analysis and registry coverage. Publishing the roadmap makes the wiki's boundaries visible and directs new research toward the gaps that most affect interpretation of Nepal's electricity system.

Common Misunderstandings

  • Published does not mean complete. This wiki provides a usable evidence spine while retaining visible uncertainties.
  • A mapped record is not a verified current project status. Registry records and project dossiers carry different evidence expectations.
  • The roadmap is not an energy-policy prescription. It describes editorial coverage and evidence priorities for the wiki.
