Summary

This explorer layer is the main reader-facing transmission network layer, combining public source-controlled corridor traces with status, provenance, geometry role, and confidence fields.

Explorer label: Main network
Layer group: Transmission and trade layers
Feature count: 22

Public-facing source-controlled transmission corridors, with status and provenance visible in popups.

What It Represents

This is the main transmission layer readers should use. It combines source traces and manual document-grounded traces into a coherent corridor network without hiding geometry role, source, status, or confidence.

How To Read It

Use it to read Nepal's major domestic grid corridors: which are operational, under construction, partially operational, or lower-confidence, and how they relate to hydropower clusters and cross-border gateways. The western 132 kV backbone is now represented here so western Nepal no longer reads as empty just because its existing grid is lower voltage than the 220/400 kV corridors.

Coverage / Method

The layer combines source traces and manual document-grounded traces into the connected major network exposed through the explorer map inventory. It covers selected public-facing corridors and preserves popup fields for geometry role, source, status, and confidence rather than treating every line as equally precise.

Caveats

This is still corridor geometry, not tower-by-tower engineering alignment. Read geometry role, trace confidence, and source fields in the popup when precision matters.
